Sup guys,
I think it's high time to get down to business. I'll probably have some 20 posts on this topic when it's said and done...but hey someone has to do it. Call of Duty. The sensation that has the world up in flames and head over heels. This is probably the most widely played console game on the face of the Earth. But, why?
I've played every Call of Duty game. That includes the very first one all the way to Black Ops. I can't help but feel a little bit stupid when I play the newer games, (Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops). They're just so simplified and refined to the point where, quite frankly, it bothers me. Don't get me wrong, I've had some great times on the games and they're legitimately fun to play. It's just that they lack realism to me. I don't think the audience that Call of Duty goes for cares about realism or anything of the like. But, I mean, hey I'd love to see some normal melee combat (remember teleporting across the map?) or perhaps some recoil....I suppose my biggest beef with the game is that the guns don't feel right, I don't know how to say it...it's just that the assault rifles feel more like SMG's and the SMG's feel like machine pistols. It may sound like I'm whining, and truthfully, I am. But if they made guns harder to control and gave them a bit more "oomph" I'd enjoy the game a whole heck lot more. Then again...I don't play Call of Duty when I'm looking to have fun alone, I use it more as a party game, which it's amazing for. I'll leave the subject for a bit...but I promise this won't be the last time you hear about the Call of Duty franchise
